My friend, Megan, got engaged last week, so I spent part of this past weekend perusing wedding magazines with her. We ogled over dresses and diamonds, but I stopped mid-flip when I saw this ad for Hayley-Paige — not because of the dress, but because of this model’s hair!
WOWZ. How do I get my hair to look like that?
My hair is naturally wavy, so with a nickel-sized dollop of Aveda Flax Seed Aloe gel and some diffusing, I can get it to look like this:
But I want volume! And fluff! And whimsy!
Watch out 2012. I’m on a mission to improve my waves!
So… uhh… help?
– Jillian
Start with Bumble and Bumble thickening shampoo and conditioner. Then spray some B&B styling lotion and follow with B&B styling creme. Don’t overdo it with the sytling creme because it can get sticky and heavy. Then use whatever you like to use to get your curls and then blow dry!
It is my fool proof method for full thick hair. I love bumble and bumble but I’m sure there are other products that will do the trick. You could also try their Surf Spray to get beachy waves with more texture.
Text lauren! She’ll tell you what to do next :)
Can you do a tutorial on a smokey eye?? I’m struggling…. :)
Thanks!!
Hey Jillian! I’ve been following your blog since I saw it on your facebook, and enjoy all your fun/inspiring/informative posts! I’ve had this tutorial saved to my computer for a while that’s patiently waiting to be tried. I think it’s similar to what you’re looking for. A little involved, but it has BIG (hair) potential :) check it out. http://www.lovemaegan.com/2011/09/revisiting-no-heat-big-curls-w-twisted.html
Emily – thanks for your B&B tips! I got samples of both styling products and am dying to try them!
Rachel – yes! I’m working on a smoky eye tutorial now, just for you. Look for it soon!
Emily – thanks for reading and for the link. I’m excited to check out!
