Eisley @ Radio Radio

Last night, I saw Eisley perform at Radio Radio. Of all the bands I’ve seen live, I’m pretty sure I’ve liked Eisley the longest; I started listening to them around 2005! (And that’s not some hipster “I knew them before they were cool” statement. That’s pure truth.)

Even if you’re not familiar with Eisley’s music, you may recognize their name from a post I wrote a few months back. The band is fronted by three sisters (vocals, guitar, bass, keyboard), their brother (drummer) and their cousin (guitar). Being a family band, they had amazing chemistry, and the sisters’ vocal harmonies were breathtaking. I felt like I was swimming in their lyrics.

Two of the sisters in Eisley are pregnant, which was also really cute. One of them could barely get the guitar strapped over her six-month belly, but she still managed to rock out!

Eisley’s opener was a band called Merriment, which is comprised of the “Eisley” family’s younger brother and sister. It really is a family affair up in there.

Here’s a music video from seven years ago:

So far this year, I’ve seen the following live shows. There might have been more, but these are the ones I can think of off the top of my head:
  • Alabama Shakes
  • Tennis
  • Kooks
  • Dr. Dog & Givers
  • Delta Spirit & Waters
  • Youth Lagoon
  • Talib Kweli (Bryan’s pick)
  • Flosstradamus & Major Lazer (also Bryan’s pick)
  • Fun
  • The Head and the Heart (twice)
  • Eisley
And there are just a few more on deck:
  • Vampire Weekend (tomorrow!)
  • Beach House (Tuesday!)
  • Alabama Shakes (for the second time)

Live music is just my favorite thing!
